I noticed recently after about 45 mile trip that my back brake seemed hot or at least warm, and compared this to front brakes which were hardly warm at all.

I was a bit concerned as I thought the disk was slightly brownish as well, popped bike up in centre stand and the rear wheel turned fairly freely by hand I did sense a slight sound of pads rubbing but again I didn’t think it was that bad.

Any ideas, I was intending replacing pads and maybe disc over winter but want to make sure I resolve issue if any

sounds like you need new pads, how many miles has the bike done up to now ?
or strip the caliper down and have a look.

The Bike (2016) has 10,000 miles, just got the bike early summer so I don't really now much about history otherthan whats stamped in book

pull the caliper apart, the pads are an easy fit, it all depends how the last owner treated/looked after it,the calipers can get shitted up quite easy .

Has anyone 'adjusted' the free play from the pedal?
