My 700GS (2017) has pink coolant in and it has not been changed.
The BMW coolant I can find is blue, I seem to remember something about not mixing colours - could be wrong though!!
Anybody got the specs for the coolant for these engines so I can get the correct stuff.
TIA
Paul

I've got some Halfords Non Silicate coolant that I've used to top mine up (and my ST1100 before it), that's pink...

D

When I changed coolant on my 650 I gave not a jot for pretty colour- simply empty it all out and replace with longlife Kool (which is green).

Coolant is funny old bugger lol

Colour is unimportant, the type of coolant is

its either IAT OAT or HOAT

Colours are as follows

IAT - Green used in older vehicles - lasts for about 2 years
OAT- Red - Orange - Green - Pink - Blue Protects metals - lasts about 5 years
HOAT Yellow or Orange a mix of IAT & OAT

Some you can mix some you cant ...

And to throw the cat amongs the pigeons there's waterless coolant as well

Halfords have OAT pink coolant in either ready mixed or in concentrate form - cost is £12.50/£16.50 for 2 litres.
Job done :okay

A quick question for those who know, is there a service item for changing the coolant?
No mention in the BMW DVD but there again there was no mention to change final drive oil when the 1200GS first came out and there are enough threads about that issue!!
