Top left shows the propitiatory purchase of a "liftstick" which has opposed threads in a centre rod - turn the centre handle round and it extends up and down. Very well made but a bit chunky, weighs about 1.2kg and not as compact as I would like.
Alongside this is my device which runs out to about 15", and with a "foot" on each end will spread the load either beneath the engine or the swinging arm.
