:D I wanted something a lot smaller than my crf Africa twin . I wasn’t looking for one but this turned up and I couldn’t turn it down. Not a massive spec but has some nice bits and is ready to go :okay

The F650 GS (single) has slightly less power, but is quite a bit heavier. The X country has 52hp and weighs only 147kg. I've never ridden a F650 GS, so can't compare handling etc.
The F650 GS Twin is a completely different animal.

Very nice.
How do they compare to a f650 gs?

Way, way better! 158kgs fuelled to 75% and 53hp... but realistically 50hp now they are 10 years old. Just amazing, charming, nimble, sensitive, quick enough and can cope with motorway, but it is a shame to waste the fun on long boring runs! Economic too, my returns are legendary, best I have achieved is over 92mpg, loaded and on a run for work, there and back in the day. Generally around the 80mpg mark. People doing track days have been unable to get below 75mpg. Most I have done in a day, which included taking pictures and finding little, out of the way clues down tiny westcountry lanes was 769 miles. :thumby:

Peepingtom - get that gear shift changed for the steel one off a F650, the alloy one is too strong and if you have a spill it will bend the gearbox shaft - the steel one will bend before the shaft. They are only about £15. ;)

PS I have a headlight guard if you want one....

Thanks
Iv always liked the look of the XC but never sat on one.
I've got a f650 and really enjoying it,leg room it just about enough.Perhaps the XC is a tad small then.

I loved mine. One of the only bikes I’ve regretted selling.

Thanks

Lighter but I don't think it is any less tall - try it and see. The X Challenge is the same bike on longer struts, 21 and 18 wheels and different plastics.. X Moto the same, 17" wheels instead.

Nice one Ian ... welcome to 'The Club' :thumb

Had both ... rode the F650GS through Russia, Siberia, Mongolia, the Gobi Desert and home ... on our first 'Long Way Home' trip :thumb2

Heavier then the Xcountry, but maybe a little more robust ;)

The Xcountry is lighter, a little more power, had mine to Hilltop. Full Akro Titanium exhaust, Wilbers suspension and other goodies ... I love it :D

If you're long in the leg Hotrod do lowering brackets, not cheap, but good.
