Beeline Moto navigation

Love mine and can't see myself using a 'big box' GPS ever again (other than very specific stuff such as some off road or Outer Mongolia).

Phone battery life is a worry though (just ask Twizzle)..................... ;)

Looks perfect on a midi bike

Does the Beeline rely on 4g when out routing or just when you plot the route and send it to the unit?

Is it 'offline' when actually navigating?

You need data to set/calculate the route initially.

Once on the move data is not required EXCEPT if you miss a turn. If that happens you need data to update/re-route.

Everyone still happy?

I love mine!

It's not for everybody though.

If you are a laid back dude who's got a chilled out approach to your journey and happy to get it wrong occasionally then it is a revelation.

If you are an angst ridden control freak who has to follow a magenta line with missile like precision then it's probably not for you.

.....and then you have Twizzle ;) :D

Sounds ideal

The Beeline device doesn't quite work like that.

It's simply a display for the app that runs on the phone. All the navigation, rerouting and magic happens on the phone and the Beeline device is just a display.

The route etc doesn't get sent to the device, just what it needs to display the picture on the screen.

Beeline Moto II

Just to add, as I missed this in Nov. '23, there is now a Beeline+ app available only in the UK and only iOS at the moment.
Part of it is the new voice commands and of course, the "+" means you must pay for it, monthly or yearly. They say you only need pay for the months you want to use it.

There's something similar fitted to my Scram 411. I've only used it once. Seemed OK.
It navigatates using Google maps, no bad thing.
