I am probably a bit late to the party on this but if you dont know you wont learn so

Been using conventional ACF50 spray for years and its good but has its down sides
Namely its fucking messy, imprecise and bleeds everywhere you dont want it

Enter a new find by me at least

ACF 50 grease ( made by the same people any way)

Much better for my needs as it can be applied precisely with a small paint brush on bolts etc etc or a thin smear on everywhere else and does not get every where. Obviously many uses, in place of copper slip springs to mind for me at least

If you know you know and if you dont its worth having in the anti corrosion arsenal

Applying acf50 etc as a mist means it can reach the bits of the bike you can't get to with a brush. But when applying it near brakes etc then it's gotta be the old 'spray acf50 into the lid of its can and apply directly using a brush, rag or whatever' routine. Am surpised the grease method you suggest isn't too sticky to apply with a fine brush and would have thought it wass even more likely to attract the dirt....but well clearly not!
