Let the 2020 farkling begin :thumb2

I've been thinking about a tail tidy on the Africa Twin for a while now, and there are a few out there, some quite expensive (£250+).

Anyways, decided to get the one from Rugged Roads at £136. Fitted it today.

Just waiting now for a smaller rear number plate to arrive (7x5 instead of the standard 9x7) :beerjug:

The part you have to cut, is the undertray mud guard bit. So luckily the whole rear number plate carrier stays in one piece, which can then be stored and refitted if you want. :beerjug:

Kit comes with a template, which is easy to mark out, then cut it accordingly.

Only gripe, was they powdercoat the whole unit black, ...... and then use Silver bolts ??? :rob :blast

So I swapped out the silver bolts for stainless steel black button ones. M6 x 16mm for reference.

Some people don't like the exposed rear light casing, but I thought it looked ok to be honest. I also put the reflectors on the back, as I didn't mind those either. :thumb2

I thought that rugged look suits the bike anyways :)

Just waiting for the 7x5 Number plate to arrive to finish it off. I'll keep the normal 9x7 number plate in the tail bag, as it's light enough to carry in case any trouble, or forget to take it with me for MOT.

I've got an Eastern Beaver 3 circuit solution plug and play loom if you're interested, all three are switched.

Cheers Cabby, I've already got the Eastern Beaver PC8 on the bike. I needed a 'direct to battery' boost cable option (which the PC8 has), as I can't bump start it being the DCT model.

Got both my camera's wired in, plus Heated Grips, GPS Mount, Maintenance Charger, etc etc.

Good kit :thumb2

I always take my billboard plate with me whilst away; it's great for putting the stove on; :okay

Gave the bike a quick wash and check over today.

Put the off-road wheel-set back on and took some pictures of the tail tidy with standard number plate fitted.

Looks good and suits the bike style :beerjug:
