Engine Bar Reinstall

HELP!

Taken engine bars off for powder coating but unable to reinstall rear bolts on both sides due to bolt holes not aligning. Somehow, the subframe needs lowering to match the other two holes on the footpeg set & the gear box.

I’ve sat on the bike & 18 stone isn’t compressing it.

Any suggestions most welcome...

I've heard of this before, if you take both bolts out the gearbox can drop, so you have to remove one at a time and then put the bolt back in. I believe the remedy is to put a jack under the gearbox and carefully raise it enough to get the holes to line up again. Good luck, hope this helps

Spangle,
Wind off any preload on the rear shock, cause if its connected then it will push the subframe up

Mission accomplished, thanks for your help. A car jack and ratchet strap did the trick.
