So I rode my first GS today and it was great. I am now committed to getting one. I am looking at two at present and I’m not sure which way to jump.

Bike 1 is a 1200GS triple black 2012, 40k, superb condition. FBMWSH. Dealer, 3 month warranty, promise of an advisory-free MOT. Luggage but no engine bars, head protectors, GPS etc.

Bike 2 is a 1200GS, 2009, 27k, excellent condition, FBMWSH. Private, long MOT, every accessory you can think off already attached.

Price difference is £750.

What is the hive mind view of the pros and cons?

Bike 1, 3 years newer, superb condition, twin cam, will be easier to sell and because it hasn't got "every accessory you can think off" there is a little bit of joy left for you farkling. Enjoy and good luck.

There should be a bigger price difference between the 2 bikes even allowing for the difference in mileage. Don’t buy on mileage only. Personally I’d go for the dealer bike. JJH

Bike 3, wait for a lower mileage twin cam private bike that has been cherished, they are about if you are patient.

Thanks for the wise words. Decision made - I’m going with the younger bike.
