The pikes peak has top spec Ohlins TTX36 and straight from the factory they felt really nice, The caveat to this is that I am still running it in and the roads have been so shitty i have not been able to push it any where near hard.
Now despite the fact that they felt nice my experience with these things is that they can always be made better by a man that knows what he is doing so today i have been over to Mick Gardner racing in Barnsley who are Ohlins dealers and set up experts to let them set it up correctly for a man of my size and weight.
This is the same place i took the Hyper to for suspender set up but these TTX things are more complicated
Any way the results were the front was way too soft and the rear was way too hard on preload
All the static sag stuff done and perfectly balanced front and rear on sag at 50mm each ???
Compression and damping all tweaked accordingly and the bike now feels even better
some connect with the road at both ends whilst being very plush
Money well spent and a well recommended place if you live anywhere nearby and want your suspension to be just so..
