As i don't work in the winter,i decided on a jolly into France TeT.
I asked around and a fellow DTRF member said yes...( good decision,!!! never offroad alone )...
planned to travel Newhaven/Dieppe,but riding buddy said it was pants that area, all flat fields...
Better to go Portsmouth/Le-Havre,Devon lanes type riding...
Many thanks to a Forum member for F&F discount,Econime ferrys booked....
Nothing booked,just wing it

Wedensday afternoon, the mother of a bog, i hopped out off the track to the left as simon had difficulty get through
No pictures of a sunken 690,but over an hour later and only 4ft from the track, we're pooped, luggage off, lay the bike on its side, drag front trackwards an inch at a time. Boggy clay and shale up to the tops of boot's, it was very very sticky gloop.

Thursday night its back to the motel place,we have a Friday night crossing booked,
The Tet is only a few miles away as we planned on doing a reverse route to Le Havre or as much as we can,so as not to be hanging around in the Le Harve..

This is why you need a riding buddy...both have comms aswell.
Not to long into the trail i have a slow off, chuffing painfull aswell, but leg trapped under the bike, cant realese it..
hollers at Simon,he returns, lifts bike off, mentions it all looked a bit skew whiff, waggle toes, yep rotate left right, yep,up and down, yep,,,must be bad sprain/bruise then..
but boy does it hurt, elect not to take Tec 7s off as i can feel it swelling,I go to carry on but its not possible but i tried..
Road to Le -Harve then, but not before doing some lanes to get to a road.....
Into Mc Ds ,just outside the port, hobble in,hang around for several hours,or more...ride over to the port, nowt doing, off we go to kill some time,we fill up.
return, they open eventually, get to customs, bike throws a wobbly,no starter working.i get off push it out the way and part way across but give up,do the hobble bit again to get to simon,(comms were switched on in Mc Ds ).hobble back,Simon tow starts it behind his...bikes were last on,Just me and simon....baring in mind the Ktm had been ticking over for an hour or more were onto the boat boot comes off, looks ok whats the problem....

Saturday.
Bike starts on the ferry. !!
off we go to Sunny Devon,Ktm has a very limited fuel range and because of the idlng last night i need fuel.no probs i fill up but painfully on the way home.
Wifey says,,you need the hospital....me being a bloke says no..

Sunday.
Chuffing heck its painfull, look at foot/ankle its going a funny colour...
Hospital then...
yep,its broken....Nurse said if it wasent for the boots being a clasp type and hold it all steady it would have been even worse..
now on permanant holiday for 6/8 weeks minimum....

As you say. oops. Short and not so sweet but I enjoyed it anyway, some great pics. Thanx for taking the time.

Good luck with the recovery.

Interesting report of the nearby TET - thanks and a speedy recovery.

It really brings out the benefits of riding with
A: a buddy
B: mousses

Great report, looked to be some tough riding there and a bugger about the ankle/leg

Good posting and honest with it.
Hopefully it may be a tadge drier next time yer tackle it. ( or maybe start a little further south next trip 0
