As the pictures show, these are a brand new pair of callipers fitted prior to delivery. I have never ridden the bike, it only has 6 miles on it.

To say I’m pissed off is an understatement, I will be pushing for Brembo’s as I have zero confidence in these pieces of shit!

I saw a thread on a FaceBook BMW Group (BMW GS Europe) that showed a brand new GS with Brembos... So they're available.

Things just got better........not!

Wheel stained where the brake fluid has sat, I believe this probably happened before I had the bike and when the brake callipers were changed.

On the one photo which is the backside of the calliper and where it is joined you can see brake fluid seeping under the middle bolt.

Money back please... keep the bike.

if mine every decided to leak, the minimum i would expect is replacement Brembo callipers, now they are been fitted as an option.

As well as your wheels check your tyres, Brake fluid and rubber dont go together

Revised Hayes calipers

I have just been advised by my dealer that the Hayes calipers have been revised, they are a completely different part number.

I don’t know if they still a split design or mono block.

I have asked the question and will update as soon as I know.

So, what you're saying is that they're clearly making improvements to the design to stop issues from happening again and trying to sort you out?

Again, you're not picking the bike up this month so as long as they sort it before you collect then all this is a bit of an overreaction I'd say. At the end of the day, if you hadn't gone in to see the bike it all would've been done in the background before you even collected it and you'd never have known...

If it delays collecting the bike though, that's a bit more of an annoyance. Only reason I could imagine that happening is if they are trying to get their hands on a set of the new ones and there's a backlog or something.

A back log due to China being in total lock down ?

I could be mistaken, but I'm quite sure that they opened a plant in Germany specifically for these.

Not sure

I have had a bit of a google at it and can only find reference to Taiwan

What i did spot is that Hayes own Sun Ringle hubs, rims, wheels and componentsll so i wonder if they are the spoked wheel makers for BMW now as well

I am not taking the piss or trying to wind anyone up here it was actually a genuine question in the first instance about China as many components are i believe made therefor BMW and other marques
