Having issue now on start up or just logging in, the mousepad does'nt register, ive been on line and they say blow out the keys etc which works after 20 minutes or so, its getting frustrating, any help/advice would be appreciated

P.S. i have very little computer skills...

Hi. Depending old hour your MBP is, Apple were doing a recall on some of them due to problems.

My MBP is 18 months and just had to have the keyboard replaced as a recall by Apple.

First question - is the mousepad completely flat? If it looks like it has an upward bow to it, then the battery may have expanded and broken the touchpad. This will (should) be a free fix at Apple - even of the machine is out of warranty.

If it is still completely flat, then try resetting the PRAM (parameter RAM) and SMC (System Management Controller) . Instructions on how to do this are here:

Tried that PRAM reset but it did'nt work......

im thinking i might pop into the apple shop in edinburgh see if i can get this sorted.
