Hi guys,

As part of our tour round the Black Forest/Germany/Easten Europe we would like to go to the VW Factory in Autostadt. Looking at tickets online it seems to be more of a general automotive theme park? Anyone got any tips of what to do there, and how to buy tickets etc? We want to see everything, and have a full day there.

Cheers! :beerjug:

If you are in Wolfsburg don't just do the Autostadt Experience , make sure you fit in the Stiftung Auto Museum on nearby Dieselstrasse (right next to Mc Donalds) where most of the historical and prototype VW models are on show.

Autostadt is more of a VAG theme park attached to the Wolfsburg plant (basically half the city) but still worth a visit.

Been to both Wolfsburg twice and visited both of the above but if you want to do an actual factory production line tour you need to check up on www.volkswagenag.com and go onto the English pages , somewhere in the news section is details of the tours ............think they need to be pre booked, take about 90 minutes and cost about 10 euros per person but no under 10's.

Plenty of parking at both museums for cars and bikes and Autostadt has good value restaurants

Audi has a very good museum in Ingolstadt (Audiville as the locals call it) with Audi, NSU, Horsch and many other vehicles on display and they are not prissy (like Porsche ) about you getting close to the cars ,if you drive an Audi they let you park on the large paved area outside the main doors to get pics or if on bikes you park them next to the main security /visitors centre office

Consider as well the massive twinned technical museums at Speyer and Sinsheim

Famous for their Bratwust/Currywurst mit pommes, und senf/currysauce.

Their sausage even has its own part number apparently -- 199 398 500 A, the best seller with around 7 million a year sold.
