Newcastle - Amsterdam Suspension Extended

We did NC500 on the pink way round in 12hrs and folk were asking what the hold up was 😂

Remember the days when Glencoe was only busy during July and August, it's heaving in February nowadays. As for the NC500, I almost cry when I see how busy that is now compared to years ago, that's progress I suppose.

Aye it is no longer the bike paradise we used to play in.
Plus of course now that it is more commercialised, the prices have rocketed for accommodation. So much so, I now avoid any overnighters, but base myself in Inversnecky area.
I suppose I'm lucky in that had it all when it was at its best.

That said, once we have green light, I am off to do parts of the Wild Atlantic Way and add to the congestion over there.:blast

I guess the B and B owners and the shopkeepers have a different opinion

You mind find your guess isn't what you think. Having stayed in a B&B in Scourie a couple years back they told us that they get very little kick back due to it being mainly full of campervans who come supplied and spend nothing while doing the route and they were also very critical of Highland council because they roads have just been left to decay despite a massive increase in volume, so it's not all what it may seem.

Like most on here, i'm forgetting my European bike run this year, still too much up in the air so £uck it.....

instead i shall be heading to the highlands and islands for a bike holiday.

Oh sounds greeeeaaaarrrrrttttt, mind and take some more rubbish pics for us all to enjoy :blast

Three years ago I took my wife to Orkney (she's a Scot but had never been there) and came back across the north and west coast.

Huge numbers of campervans and motorhomes were foreign registered so it may not be all bad this summer if we are allowed out by Little Fishy.

DFDS have now extended the cancelation of the Newcastle-Amsterdam ferry until the 17th June.
I know everybody's possibly written off this year - so it's just for information purposes:rolleyes:

Cheers................Grizzly:beerjug:
