2010 FLHTCU, was riding around serenely through the back roads of Cheshire and stopped at a train crossing. Looking around and at the throbbing noise below me, I noticed petrol dripping from the OEM connection. Fiddling made it worse so stopped. Released QD cleaned and put back. Still a bit of a drip. Looking at the male portion, should there be an O'ring there?
If so, it must have split and still lodged in the female part.

Or - is there a fixed o ring in the female connector

Looked in the manual and no clear picture of the fuel line connect. Ronnie’s microfiche only shows the whole intake fuel line without identifying whether an O’ring is present or not (as a separate part no.).
For now, will try to clean both connects and smear some heavy grease on them before refitting.

Even the female portion only shows an O’ring between itself and the tank.

The o ring is in the female part... not the male.....

Watch this video....

Thanks Twizzle. So my problem may just be the lower O’ring is buggered, without that tool or another O’ring replacement, I am stumped. Out comes the old GSA.

So, is there a fuel tool vendor here in the U.K. or EU?
Otherwise, it is over the pond for parts again.

Already waiting on some spare parts from ChesterHarley for over a month and they’re all closed down.

You just need an O ring.....FFS people like you should not own anything mechanical, hopefully this virus will put paid to lifestyle wannabees....

Thanks again. Will give them a call Monday.
I have a new spare fuel line from drag specialists and that tool fuel video was good for the check valve seal replacement. Hopefully it is just the lower that’s gone.

There must be a Heath Robinson way of swopping it out without the special tool from the US.

US sources posted some sizes for the Viton O-rings. I will initially change out the check valve lower which seems always to be the culprit.
OD: 0.558”. 14.2mm
ID: 0.414”. 10.516mm
the: 0.072”. 1.83mm

Sources say the oil drain sump plug Viton O-ring is the same and fits to give a seal.

Did you sue The Charm School??

Your right Ian, Juan has a case of COVID-19 lockdown syndrome.
I don’t think he read the question correctly.

I lack any tattoos or leather chaps still, not too sure what he meant by ‘lifestyle wannabe’

Also, having an old GSA 1150 and an Electra glide does not make me feeling like a Schizophrenic with a split personality .

After a wait, my ‘Drag Specialties’ O-ring kit arrived.
There cannot be that much difference from the OEM check valve configuration. Had to take the tank off as struggled with the damaged O-ring getting it out upside down.

Size 14 x 11 (F) I will use for the lower check valve seal and use a deep socket to push it in to the groove.

Looks like the original has gone hard and flattened out against the male inline fuel part. It broke in two getting it out with a pick.

Here endeth the story; all done and back on the road. A couple of rides and no sign of leakage.
As some US forums point out, it is mainly the first (lower) O-ring that fails. And that is what I changed.
