Nav 6 battery replacement

It has a seperate PN 77528544462

So your dealer should be able to help

However its coming up at £67.45 ouch

The 595 /590 is comming up at £41 on the bay, but i dont know if it's compatible

Try here - I bought a replacement 590 battery from them some years ago and was very pleased, so worth a look. https://www.batteryupgrade.co.uk

Spoke to them thank you and apparently the Nav 6 battery is specific to BMW, neither the 660 nor 590 will fit, even have different connection.

Looks like I have to bend over at the stealers and order one from the mothership.:tears

Where there's a will there's a way; are BMW inadvertently attempting to future proof their monopoly of ancillary spares? :augie

Perhaps you could buy a replacement generic battery (physical size / Voltage / Perhaps with a greater Ah capacity) then simply cut the "Unique BMW Battery Connector Wires" and solder the four wires to those of the replacement battery? :nenau

Here's a link to a screen replacement tutorial for a BMW Motorrad Navigator Nav 6 :

Do you need the battery?

it would only be for the purposes of storing any backed up data

Maps should be on the memcard or in RAM, media in RAM Also

Have you tried putting the unit in the cradle and seeing if it will work.

If it does, you have a semi viable work round, not ideal but at least it will still operate

Before you go cutting and splicing batteries, check what type it is

LiPo batteries are serious shit.

of all the types of battery out there, LiPo are the most volatile and dont react well to any form of abuse.

they dont like being over charged or over discharged ...

They must be charged by a specific charger rated for the type of battery

if the battery pack is swollen in any way, place it outside, until it can be disposed of safely
