I've had this for some years, even converted a camper based around carrying it in the back & then never carried or used it. Dug it out recently intending to sell it but after 7 years dormant fresh fuel & it fired second kick & I've gone all starry eyed again. It's basically sound was mot'd has only 700 miles or so came from Papua new guinea. If it was a total shed resto would be the only option but its better than that but full restos all I know. I might get the forks rechromed keep the Mot man happy but if I blast & paint the wheels and any other silver bits etc they'll all be fresh against the rest of it. Do you just clean up best you can & keep any surface rust waxed etc any advice appreciated :beerjug:

I think you’re at the point where it’s not corrosion, it’s ‘patina’ and to remove it would take away from the provenance of the bike. I had a similar dilemma with a 1964 bike I have. Just left it as it is in the end and kept it as clean as I could.

Preserve. :thumb

Oily rag, ACF50, GT85, Waxoyl, whatever.

It's only original once.
