Hello All - been stalking a few GS options and have come across this R100GS

Looks like a Kalahari.....But......its too old methinks....1989......as I thought the Kalahari was 96/97

Even if not original it is still a lush looking bike.

Interested to see what you guys think.

Cheers

Dan

What makes you think it’s 89?

The vin checks out as the correct date so too old but as the kalahari was also 800 cc not 1000. This was a white 100gs repainted me thinks. Also I believe only 600 were made and 300 went to Sth Africa and not to be seen again.

Matching numbers??

Thanks Tetley.....am of the opinion that it’s a ‘replica’......looked at charitably.....but still worth asking price.
Normal caveats apply of course. Cheers

Well spotted..... I didn’t even notice it lurking under that blue paint!

I would think I would be avoiding that like the plaque Different numbers We need GabrialGS skills to enhance that I think

I have NEVER seen an airhead frame plate down there

I also have never see a "Belgian" BMW factory on the frame plate either and I have seen a few aircooled bikes

Hi Dan
I live in North Dorset if you fancy looking at a couple of Airheads

I laughed when i saw that.. :D I think matching frame/engine numbers stopped in 1983.

Do you know when in 1983 they stopped, as my ST (built ‘83, but not registered til dec ‘84) has matching numbers (Franme and engine). I was just wondering if mine was one of the last.

Thanks
Bubb
