After a 18 months of 'shall I or shan't I', I've finally succumbed and got my hands on this gorgeous 1972, R60/5.

As far as I know it's all original although I'm pretty sure the bars aren't standard (but wait to be told about the things that aren't). I never knew that pootling along at 50mph could be so much fun. I love it.....

That's jolly nice. Enjoy in good health :thumb

That is the sort of bike that got me into BMWs in the first place. A lovely thing and SO well made.....Nice one...:thumb2

That is a nice example.

Enjoy bimbling around the back lanes of East Anglia. (There is plenty of those).:thumb2:thumb2

Top yoke needs painted. :augie

Those bars look about right. Maybe a tad lower than oem but not far off.

When you get time have a look at the front brake shoes, in damp conditions the first application of the brake, the shoe could lead to a sudden grabbing, feather the leading edge of the shoes.
Wrong silencer for the year, listen out for pinking.
Enjoy :)

It’s very nice and everyone knows it.

Due to an unfortunate spacing error while booking our holiday, I am now looking forward to a week on the Norfolk B roads. Maybe I'll see Snowy! We might have a double-take:

Thanks for the tip Denis, I'll have a look at the shoes. Do you know which year silencers are on my bike?

Nice bike Snowy, well may she wear :thumb

It’s a whole new experience isn’t it ;)

Bought this R75/5 at the tail end of last year. Lovely bike to ride.
Was supposed to be going to Spain on it next Thursday but did a short ‘essential’ run for milk on it the other day instead. Only thing I’ve done since I got it is add the side stand and refurbish & fit a set of engine bars
