I have two sets of spoke wheels, one set in black and one set in silver. The silver ones are suffering from hub corrosion and the rims have been resprayed, but they are true and dent free. The black ones are in really good nick, again true and dent free but going against popular opinion I prefer the silver ones. Now where can i get them refurbished without it costing me an arm and a leg, want the rims anodised and the centres either powdered or painted.

Also worth having a chat with Mikeyboy on here.

You could try Hagon on 0208 502 6222. Did a nice job on my IT490 wheels.

Thanks guys

Think this could work out expensive like you say. May be an option to sell both sets and get a new set.

Spoked wheel refurb is a specialised area and as such not cheap. I would be wary of getting wheels refurbished just because it was cheap enough. I got a set done for my 1250 wasn't cheap but Devon Rim Company have a great reputation and wheels came back better than BMW could manufacture. You get exactly what you pay for when refurbishing spoked wheels as long as you go to someone who has the knowledge to do the job properly and safely, also look at reviews when checking who knows their stuff.

May I ask what it cost? PM is fine

It was about £750 with upgraded spokes, powder coated and lacquered and sent back to me cost me £30 to send wheels down to them. Its not cheap but you get what you pay for, give them a call lots of different options.

Spoke to them, they source out BMW wheels, I have a contact number so will try that

Is that Dough Richardson? I believe he was the previous owner of Devon Rim company which he sold & set up on his own. Woodies Wheels in America actually recommend him to me. Not many people can true the cross spoke wheels. I got a set of the faulty batch of wheels from 1200GS in May 2018. Hagon couldn't true them. Dough Richardson sorted them. Used them off road, no problem. Would recommend him.

@shadude, so is Devon Rim Co still good or should it be direct to Dough? would you have a number or an email for him? The spokes and spoke nipples on my GSA wheels is rusting and would like someone to change all spokes and nipples.

@GB, where did you get with this. Any updates appreciated as I need to get the rusty spokes and nipples off. Ta :thumb2

I’ve used both, Central wheel for my RD alloys and Salisbury for my DR350

I spoke to Doug and he was very helpful, as said before it’s not going to be cheap, looking at £750. My spokes are fine and the wheels are true so I may spend time masking up and sand blasting the hubs and rims and repaint them myself. I’m reluctant to only have one set of wheels at the moment. So when I put the road wheels back in I will mask up the spokes and get them soda/sand blasted and see what happens.

Got it. Is there a number for Doug you can post on here or PM me please? Thanks :thumb2

£750 to Refurb 2 wheels
I’ll be sticking to alloys. I think alloys look better anyway. IMHO

That includes all new HD spokes, powder coated hubs and rims plus the labour to build them.
