A few of my old Airheads.

Couple of other police bikes bought at the auctions - Kent and West Sussex police both used Moto-Guzzi G5’s - I bought a few back in the day. Kent police had white fairings, West Sussex police had a vivid green hi-vis fairings, which they sprayed white before they auctioned them off. They weren’t bothered about a good finish, paint overspray used to be on the wheels/tyres, handlebars .. they used to fetch between £600 -£900 depending on mileage.
Sussex carried that colour scheme through from the days of Norton Commando's to the K1100's.

The R80/7 Police Special Escort bike.... Think it had 16k miles on it.

55BHP instead of the standard 50bhp, proper factory job, including the very rare higher final drive ratio (can't remember the exact ratio) and matching speedo number.
Bought at the ADT Car Auction in Enfield, they were put through one morning with the commercial vehicles so no other serious bidders were there.
So me and another bloke who used to buy police bikes shared all the bikes on sale. Around £600 each, all low miles.
I kept two and sold four. All went within a week.

I was finally persuaded to sell this one after i was made an offer i couldn't refuse. One of those i should've kept. I've still got YYX 209T somewhere, it might have 20k miles on it by now. :D

My old chum Bob Stewart's bike, 177T, in her prime.

R100RS, 1982. Bike magazine long term test bike.

Somewhere in the Alps. Spent a summer riding around Europe on it
It used to get the most basic of maintenance, an oil change now and again,
Seriously abused.
A bit more poke than the same model available at the dealers (BMW had a reputation of tweaking the press models).

Everyone who rode that bike loved it.

Ended up being crashed into stone bridge on the back roads leading the Paul Ricard Circuit for the 1986 Bol'D'Or ..

I started at Oxford nick in the mid 80's and we'd get visited occasionally by the 'shiney arse brigade' from HQ a few miles away. They ran a couple of Interpols, much loved by those who rode them - turbine smooth & went like stink apparently. Downside was that they drank fuel accordingly & seemed to need constant fettling.

There's two of you! Were you part of some human cloning experiment back in the day?
