So my commuter bike with 80,000 miles on her like some our film icons looks great from a distance but when you get up close you can see like them she's had a hard paper round. I got the bike from the forum and back then it looked good but 4 years of all year round commuting has taken it's toll.

work continues

Everything bar the lower fork stanchions were sprayed with 2k rattle can paint and 2k clear lacquer. The stanchions were hand painted as I figure they are going to get the worst of the hammering commuting so I can whip off the wheels etc when required and repaint. The marks showing on the handguard are not as noticeable as they are in the photo, it's just the zooming in showing the minor blemishes

I removed the tank yellow decals as they won't suit the new scheme I have planned, hope it looks well :D

The rear mudguard really did look like it had been kicked around so I decided there is no point in titivating it as it will end up the same way again so I just gave it a tidy up, and that's where I go to do all my bit's and piece's. The sign by the way is in shite because my son uses it for target practice with his sliothar

Can somebody tell me how to re orientate the photos . I have flipped them on my computer upside down or sideways hoping the upload will mirror the same but no luck .
Thanks

Saddle

Just collected the saddle form the upholsterer's I went with a black textured material rather than a matt as I'm hoping it will match the end result I have in mind

Great thread! What is the screen you have there please? Also, what is 2k paint? Is it in a can? Thanks

Thanks Johnnyboxer appreciate your comments.
Captain Jack the 2k paint is paint with a hardener in it like the body shops use . It comes in a can and it has a ring pull in the base of the can you pull to activate the hardener. You then have an 8 hr window to use it before the whole lot goes off in the can . Any good car paint suppliers can knock it up ,over here a can costs 30 euros as opposed to the 1k can you buy in halfords for a tenner and these cans are made up of 90% thinners 10% paint. The extra cost is also justified in the nozzle on the top of the 2k can you can get a vertical or horizontal spray pattern depending which way you orientate the nozzle and they give a much more even coverage.
The screen is an Oem Adv screen on tobinators .
Hope this helps any more questions just holler mate.
Cheers

Cheers Dub.

If you’re looking at using 2K type paint Eastwood is the manufacturer to go for, they do all sorts of different finishes. You need to be warned, it’s not cheap if you only need to spray a small amount because as dub 24 says, you’ve got to use it once you’ve activated it.

Finished bike

got the bike back together. I'm very happy with the end result
