GSA headlight protector

Morning all.
I have just been given an original BMW headlight protector for my 2012 GSA. Question, does anyone know why it states "OFFROAD USE ONLY"? Is it because its in front of the lens and therefore doesn't have an 'CE' number?
Just curious.

Mixed Review

The problem I have with these is riding at night. The protector can act as a prism and throws a strange light pattern on the screen. They don’t work at all for me. I have had protectors on 2 x GSAs (slow learner!) but now just have a sticky 3m Ventureshield protector on the headlight lens.
