114 & 107 Engines

Hi,Any of you Harley experts know why they don't just put there 114 engines in there touring range ? Or is there a chance they might do this if there is a new 2021 range.

The 107 and 114 have different characters, so they’ll probably keep running the 107 and offer it as the ‘base model’ as they do now. An entry level Harley is a cash cow as once you’ve spent a lot personalising it, you will probably opt for a stage 4 kit rather than sell your pride and joy to buy a 114. Stage 4 costs much bucks.

Harley stopped being a motorcycle company a long time ago, it’s all about squeezing cash out of the after sales.

McDonalds makes more money on the property than it could ever make selling burgers, but people think they are a fast food restaurant ;)
 
The 114 engines are in the “Specials” bog standard bikes get 107 and the CVO gets 117...
 
And the 114 is so worth it. :thumb2

I bought my new Harley Ultra Ltd as 107. Thought it was a bit gutless so bought a Stage 3 upgrade in Daytona last year.
Went over with two suitcases, 20kg each. Came back with four cases, three at 25kgs, one at 32kgs and two bits of hand luggage at 15kgs each.
Harley dealer in Daytona told me "Boy, do you think you can handle the extra power? Standard bike is 80 bhp but with this Stage 3 it will be between 110 tp 120 bhp".
I told him my busa turbo made 350 bhp!
He replied "Boy, you'll be fine with the Harley" and shook my hand.
It has totally transformed the bike for the better. The stronger valve springs and new ecu allow it to rev another 500 revs to 6,000. It makes a big difference when touring two up fully loaded with luggage. Overtakes are so much safer with the extra power. Bike is nicer all round, it can now accelerate out of corners and is more fun to ride. The new ecu is not allowed to be sold inEurope by Harley dealers but you can import it yourself and dealer was happy to fit it and set it up
