Right folks, here’s a challenge. Where do I start to build something like this:

But not full on Dakar race level, and using a Guzzi engine and running gear.

I’m guessing a 1000 Quota is probably a good starting point?

Go on, talk me out of it.

Second thoughts, go for it. It’ll be great to see.

Quota stripped back as a starting point then see what happens from there. As you will possibly need the space I'll be happy to take the Califoria off your hands to give you a bit of room:bounce1.
Would look nice next to my Eldorado.
Looks like it will be a cracker when it's done :bow
Cheers,
Ron

id start somewhere near this unless you want a really tall / heavy bike like the quota/ stelvio

Yep, if it’s going to have any off road ability at all you’d have to start with the small block engine (IMO)

There was something similar for sale on ebay a few months back, the guy had built it based on a 750 Breva, looked lovely, very R80G/S like

Not the one, can't find any photos of it...

Just Googled Guzzi Paris Dakar, lots of links and images, looks fun

My mountain bike has bigger forks than that thing!

Just kicking ideas around at the moment.

Ash posted a picture of a Dakar Guzzi with an 85TT some time ago. If you cant find it then I am sure he can repost it if you ask him nicely. It might be in the "New V85tt looks good " thread.

Ooh there’s lots of stuff out there! Probly best to get the current one finished first.

The Baja Guzzis are very rare and go for silly money when they are offered for sale. Based on the V65 and V75 if memory serves.

Beautiful looking bikes in my opinion.
