Bag that replaces pillion seat?

Hi guys,

On my travels this week and saw a 1250 with its pillion seat replaced with a soft bag. Taking to the owner, it used the original seat holding mech and bike key it to secure it, and remove it. Very tidy thing, German name i think.

I can't remember the name of it. Any one know what i'm on about?

Sounds like a great idea, would be good to see some photos.
 
Touratech and Wunderlich make a “rack extension” plate thing that seems to bolt into place instead of the pillion seat. I’ve not seen one in the flesh, but I’d be tempted, because it would seem to allow me more choice over what bag I used on it. Although I’ve studied the adverts etc, however, I can’t work out whether the plate provides proper waterproofing for the electrics etc under there.

Anyone got one and able to comment? Thanks.
