As part of a batch of useful spares I’ve just acquired from another forum member was a alloy top yoke for a R80ST made from an original lower yoke. As the original fork stanchions butted up against the underneath of the original steel top yoke and they now fit inside the alloy top yoke I have the option of extending the tubes using a fork ‘slug’. I could usefully do with a 25mm or 30mm extension. Does anyone know of a suitably sized, threaded slug that would fit these tubes? 36mm tubes by the way.

Here’s a picture of the new top yoke.

Not sure i like the look of that
Could just be the picture but for a piece of cast aluminium it looks a bit thin where it's been machined flat
When i have done this trick in the past i made a special nut to keep the stregnth in the clamp
Plus if you extend the forks you will be putting even more force on it

Thanks for your concern but it is plenty thick enough.

I have similar bought from the US years ago and looks great.
