There Is a Light That Never Goes Out...

A classic Smiths track from the 1980's and remembered fondly by my Ducati on a quick trip to the Limonsin and Auvergne region of France earlier this week.

Limoges was my first nights destination and grabbed a few beers with an old school friend as the weather was hot and I had a thirst.

Some very nice gentlemen on a Whatsapp group then sprung to my assistance and set my OCD into freefall.

TPS. Limp mode. Never being able to get above 10mph for the rest of the trip...

Decided to phone the local Ducati dealer in Clermont-Ferrand.

I'm such a loser...

The guy on the phone was really helpful and offered to hook the bike up to their computer the next morning.


The next morning I naturally took in a couple of nice Cols on my way there.

It's "Wired for Sound"

The Tech was great but spoke little English and did give it the odd gallic shrug...

He erased some fault codes and did mention it might be the TPS or a brake sensor. He also asked if the Cruise Control was working... I said yes but obviously hadn't used CC since the Tuesday morning on the autoroute and before the fault light appeared.

The CC turned out to be the fault as the light reappeared on my way home and I wasn't able to use the CC. Once the light went out the CC worked fine. Electrics eh!

And before anyone jumps on the Italians these are Audi Electronics we are talking about.

I thanked them and headed off to the nice bits again.
