Another item destined for a new home. It came as a spare when I bought my R100RT a few years back but I’m very happy with the one on the bike at the moment.

My question is, the tank appears to be locked and I have no key. What is the best/easiest way to get into it?

Thanks in advance.

I’m guessing you mean the fuel cap and not the tool box? If it’s the fuel cap it might be that the internal ratchet has sheared, a common fault, in which case a rope threaded through the handle and an able assistant pulls up whilst you turn the cap. Another method is a self tapper drilled down into the cap at a strategic point. There’s a more precise description available via a google search.

Thanks for your suggestions all! :augie

Method one failed so I had to resort to Snowbum’s drilling solution but it worked a treat. The cap’s buggered but I’ve got a spare one of those!:D
