Finally the day has nearly come when Myself, BleusNTwoes and EasySushi head north for a couple of weeks camping and riding.. Aiming for Broughton-in-Furness Monday afternoon camping at the Moss Side Farm campsite. Then to Kielder via the Honister Pass Tuesday and crossing into Scotland Wed...

I’ll try and do a RR here as the days go by and include pics and video if possible.....:thumb

You're timing coming up here could be good cause it's apparently pissing down for most of next week starting Monday.

We always plan for the worse and hope for the best and I find it depends on what forecast site you look at. You can look at x3 different sites and get x3 different forecasts... The Met Office is currently forecasting dry but cloudy for next week... GlenCoe is always wet (or has been every time I’ve ridden through)... Either way we’ll have a great time🙏🙏🙏

Right then, we’re two days in and we’ve had a great night camping in the lakes, a ride through the Kielder, and now we’re in some random campsite near Hadrians Wall... Oh and we’ve one off when Jon dropped his bike in the Kielder😂😂😂..

So yesterday was a fairly uneventful ride up the M40 and the M6 to the Lakes. The campsite was at Broughton-in-Furness and is called Moss Side Farm - Highly recommend with fantastic views across the valley. They also allow campfires which is an added bonus.. We arrived around 1530 got set up and headed off to pick up supplies from the local butcher and grocery shop, we were back at the site just after 1700 ready for a delivery of wood for the fire at 1800...

Woke up to a nice morning and decided that we would head to coniston water (famed for the speed record attempts by Donald Campbell). Met a lovely chap there who spent some time with us talking about the water the village etc. Had a great breakfast and then headed off to Ambleside and then on to the Honister Pass.. Following that it was over to the Kielder and then to find somewhere to camp...

More to come...

I’m uploading these pics from my iPhone, don’t know why they are on the piss....

As said on here. With the iPhone take pictures in Landscape with the button to the right.

Am enjoying your R.R.

Looking good so far; how did you manage with the bogs and washrooms on site; were there any problems or owt?:beerjug:

It’s a bit hit and miss snelly.. Some campsites in Scotland only open for wobbly boxes, no tents and some that are open don’t have toilets or showers available.. We’ve managed to find a few great sites some not so great and a bit of wild camping in Glen Shee so far...

Christ almighty....how stupid is that.

So, back to business.. The ride through the Kielder Forest was great, well for 2 people of us. At one point we pulled over and when Jon put his foot down the ground disappeared and down he went... Obviously the priority was to get a photo so Ty duly delivered.. :D
After the ride through the forest we ended up at a Campsite near Hadrians Wall and prepared ourselves for a wet evening..

After a fairly uneventful but wet night and morning we had a good breakfast and hit the road heading north. We picked up the A68 and had a blast to the border, what a great ride - big grin factor and followed the road up past Edinburgh and decided to camp on the coast at Levin... The site wasn’t great, cold showers, no hot water anywhere. Only good thing about it was it’s location right on the beach. Wouldn’t have been our first choice but after numerous calls to various camp sites in St Andrews and the surrounding areas it was the only one available...

Oh and for anyone wondering what the weather is like up here, it’s been perfect for riding. We’ve not seen any rain since arriving....

Sounds good. If in doubt about the weather east is generally drier as I'm sure you know. Glorious day in the Highlands and a decent forecast

Nice to camp by the beach, you can wait a day or two for a shower, beer is more important
