Looking to acquire a basic compressor for painting and general use, preferably 240v anyone got a view? Clarkes seem to do about 40 models!

At least 50L capacity and 2hp will cover most casual user needs; SGS (as mentioned above) often have sales or bundles that are good value.

Sgs look like an excellent option, so thanks. However, a bit alarmingly they have more "out of stock" than in, atm!!

I bought an SGS one from a member on here and it’s really good value, a bit noisy though in a confined space.

Depends what you want to do , most air tools dictate something with 14 cfm FAD (sensibly the max size for a 13 amp plug) and a decent sized tank , likewise for painting you are better off with a larger tank.

I bought a refurbed one a good few years ago from Shiremoor Compressors , biggest that will run off a 13 amp plug and with a 250 litre tank
