Looking at the Haynes manual the clearance for the exhaust value is .30, looking at the Repair and Service Data application that came on a DVD it also reflects .30 for the exhaust.

If however I enter my VIN number is the Repair and Service Data application it changes to .35

The inlet remains at .15 regardless of source.

Is the exhaust different because it's actually a R1200RT-P?
Why is it different?

Just like to know.

Guess - police bike , more subject to low speed running (at times) = run hotter = more clearance is safer ??
For normal road use - probably safe enough to use std settings ................

Likely pretty much what Cortina says above they idle a lot more and spend a lot more time in traffic

Its a gnats nadger of a difference so set them to your own preference between the two
