Hi Gentlemen . I had a 2001 fat boy back in the day . I have been time wasting a dealer today about a 2006 Fat Boy . 3000 miles. 2 owners FSH nice colour silver . Any issues with these ? I’m guessing the usual with a 14 year old bike but it looks great . Top dollar at £10000 , but I am getting £60 insurance for my stolen T Max , well we will see . I loved my 2001 version, only sold it to buy a 2003 GSA . Any advice much appreciated. Be kind Im still fragile after the burglary :thumb2

If it’s the one from Sykes, they’ve got a later one with the 96” engine, same miles-ish... a few quid more.

Yes saw it . Forward controls and semi apes single seat . I like the original one `I guess , looks a bit like my diamond ice 2001 bike . Is it too much money ? I think it’s fair given the low mileage . Can you get racks so you can go away with it ?

Que? The one I saw had same foot boards , bars and a better seat than the one you were looking at...also comes with detachable bags. Yes, you can add racks and all sorts of luggage to either..

My brief flirtation

My brief flirtation with a Harley, it lasted for 3 months, and then I did a straight swap for a brand new 1200GS TC.

It looked fabulous and drew crowds everywhere I parked it. It sounded fantastic, straight through pipes with no silencing of any description - set car alarms off everywhere 😁

It affected my left arm too much, since my accident in 2002 I can't straighten my arm, the elbow has limited range, and the riding position kept trying to staighten it.

I'd still love it as a second bike though.

Thanks Bob
I had one as I say in 2001 , having traded a Road Glide . It handled really well for what it was and was roomy enough for me at 6 foot 5 . Cornered well . it is not to replace a GSA but I do like them and guess it would be fun

Sykes is a new name..... racking my brains as to what it used to be called....

Can’t beat a nice original FB.

I love mine. When it’s not leaking oil. :p

So .... tried both Fat Boys today. The 1450 was like the one I had in 2001 so no surprise there , just a bit slow and low but felt tight as only had 4000 miles . The Fat Boy is such a nice bike to ride, love the way everything is reflected in the big chrome headlight , mainly the sky and clouds . The 1584 was very different, the 200 rear tyre made for slow turning and I felt vague handling , great in a straight line though . Both bikes were yet to go through the workshop and I was assured any cosmetic blemish would be attended to before sale . I could not pick one above the other , each had pluses and minuses . I have yet to hear from my insurance company regarding my stolen TMax , so cannot proceed yet as the claim is ongoing . Gives me some time to think . Sykes Harley are fantastic , no pressure sales and let me take both bikes out today for an extended ride . This is a very good company to deal with ,
