It’s time for new action camera, but which ? I’ve had a number of Drift HDs and have a Garmin VIRB XE, both have been great. The oldest is a Drift HD 1080P, the outer case has gone sticky and horrible.

I like to have two, partly because if you lose or break one on a trip there’s another and also good for positioning in different places, back, front, engine bars etc.

I’m not keen on the GoPros as they need a separate outer case, presumably as they are not waterproof.

Quality, robustness and reliability are the key needs they are for homemade movies.

What are peeps using and recommending ?

I use a TomTom Bandit. Mainly down to the app which is good.
You can shake your phone and it will produce a 60 second video of various clips from that day.
The downside is the remote which is light years away from the Drift remote.

I don't have a GoPro, but it seems the 7 and 8 are waterproof to 10m without a case... I just wish they'd sort out the lens orientation. It's just dumb arse layout for an 'action' camera. Only reason I haven't ever bought one.

Been using Drift Ghost X cameras. Got two of them. Fantastic battery life.

Decided to order a Drift Ghost 4K direct from Drift, mainly because I have a load of ancillaries from my older Ghost.
