Do the two genres yuse the same frame and add ons? Mine has a self springing side-stand. It is a long reach forward for me with the original and the bike has to be leaned over to the right significantly to allow it to pass the upright point.

Can I take it off and just bolt on one of the non self-retracting types?

Another vote for the Miguel stand.

The one on here is a bargain, as they don’t come up for sale very often. Buy it, and all your sidestand woes will be history.
