The flowers were a bit chewy, apparently you’re not meant to eat them! :D

Le Mans was one of the must do boxes to tick for me, as I’d been a few times before in the car, but not on the bike. So once we got to the hotel, we checked in and I dropped my bags in the room and went for an explore, while his nibs freshened up.

I was surprised to find one of the chicanes open, so as none of the locals were using it, had a bit of a play. And even at half 5 on a Friday night, the Mulsanne straight was empty enough to have a few high speed runs. :augie It would have been rude not to! :D

My ‘circuit’ shots were taken on the Saturday morning; I was up early to have a ride around before brekkie:

Saturday 25th July.

After having brek & fulfilling our Le Mans circuit photos, we headed north again.

Sunny intervals prevailed, a drop in temps to 18-20°c, with a forecast of rain @ Cherbourg just to coincide with our arrival for check in.

A stop in Barenton for this memorial:

And we decided on an earlier lunch, so we could fill up with fuel/break out the waterproofs for the run into Cherbourg.

We found this place in Périers:

Found the perfect meal on the lunch menu:

DUCK et Frites:

So on our way to Cherbourg, we found this German military memorial @ Orglandes:

And after getting fuel & getting the waterproofs on, next stop was Cherbourg:

It had rained in the 15 km’s or so from Cherbourg, and then stopped when we got to check in.

Then whilst waiting to board, it rained again:

The forecast for home was rain; thankfully this didn’t materialise, apart from a bit of road spray.

Portsmouth did welcome us home with a rather dramatic sunset:

I've never seen Portsmouth looking so nice. I've spent quite a lot of time there with work, and it's usually best seen rapidly receding in the rear view mirror.

Enjoyed this RR guys but...

I think I’ve put on half a stone ogling the food pictures. :(

It was rather good.

To be fair, we ate well all week - the duck & bacon salad in Sarrancolin was a bit epic though :D

I'd say those were the joint winners. We do seem to have a habit of getting the best meal of the trip on the way home!
