Over the years I've seen plenty of attempts to SM the 1200GSbut none seem to complwetley work, they are big old bike after all and that's a difficult thing to square with the ethos of SM's being stripped back and functional.

This, however, gets pretty close. Built by Motorieep, they've somehow managed the optical trick of making the bike look smaller than it is and apart from a few minor styling issues down to personal preference I think it looks brilliant, certainly the best 1200GS SM I've yet seen :thumb2

That looks flipping awesome. I'd love to give it a good thrashing:thumby:

It looks very cool.
The tank is well below the steering plate. I think that helps a lot with the "size" issue.

Nice bike,

Airfilters are begging to be ripped off :(

put them where the battery was :)

That looks quite cool. I bet the price, if they sold them, would be eye watering though.

Click on the link I provided and you'll find out :) Not a lot different to a fully spec'd new GSA so pretty good pricing for a special in my book, hurry though there's only one left (of three built) ~ they are then working on a 1250 version.

I have a wheel set from a R12R for my GS.
When I want to go SM.
Turns quicker, but always return to the GS wheel set.

The GS with the R12R wheels really hugs canyon roads though. And you can really lean it before the rear wheel slides out.

there's a reason bikes have a massive air box (with a huge volume of clear air) after the filter....

silly little trash filters don't work so well

But they "look cool".
Also: a bit impractical position.

Those air filters just do not work in my eyes

Other than that its brilliant

The GS is actually a pretty good bike to do this sort of thing to as it is actually no where near as heavy as they look in reality and when you compare weights etc to many other bikes Triumphs and Kawasaki in particular) they are actually lighter

That's why BMW is the leading Supermoto manufacturer

At 225 KG before you strip it down and lighten things it isn't that bad
I do accept that its never going to get down to true super Moto weights but and I maintain the right to this but

Its a good bike to mega Moto

And there’s the rub. If this is the price of a new 1250, I’d rather put the money towards a MegaMoto. Which is an epic bit of kit.
