Non standard tyre sizes

Has anyone tried fitting 120/70 19 and 170/60 17 tyres to a pre-lc hexhead instead of the standard fit 110/80 19 and 150/70 17 sizes? If so were they ok?
There are some really good deals on 120/70 19 and 170/60 17 pairs and I’m skint and needing new tyres.

yep been running it ever since tyres for the LC came out

you get slightly wrong profile as rims too narrow but it works OK, even clears the hugger OK. One caveat don't use the hideous Michelin PS3, steering goes to shit and need 2.7 bar to keep it stiff enough to be bearable, no issues with dunlop

that rear gets the speedo and miles right. for 4 years before that ran a lower profile tyre... shorter gearing, better shape, much better idea, but the miles run extra
