Hi fokes
I managed to bend tbe front left engine bar when the bike rolled off the side stand when parked down hill (I know it should have been in gear)
Are these easily straightened or fixed?
You can see from the photos it's just pushed against the engine cover
Thanks in advance

Easier get longer bolt and a few spacers, I do this for my header guards.

Bend the ferking thing back out.

Easier said than done, awkward to get a lever in there strong enough and thin enough to allow for padding, hardboard is ideal as the amount of pressure needed would cut through cloth. Remember it took 250kg to bend it in the first place.

See below

Mr Harris showing how it's done

obviously not your bar, but you get the idea ;)

Pull it out with a ratchet strap, had to do it once when mine "fell over"

As Big Si says

get a strap put it round a lamp post and sit on the bike and gently lean it back wards and forwards slowly and keep watching the gap - it will come out easily

I have had a few issues with the bike rolling on the side stand. It she is a big girl when loaded up

I have had a few issues with the bike rolling on the side stand. It she is a big girl when loaded up

Mine was knocked over while parked. Came back and she was lying down having a snooze! Luckily, the r/h crash bar took the brunt of it, (few scratches on the off side pannier, but I claimed bragging rights on those!)

I stuck mine on the table lift (but you can get round that if you haven't got one). Clamped the front wheel in and because the lift I have has a lip all round it I wedged a bit of wood against that and then against the rear wheel to stop the whole bike being pulled off the table. I also strapped the opposite side of the bike to the lift, stuck a strap around the bent bar and slowly ratcheted (is that a word?) it out. It amazed me how much stretch there is in ratchet strap webbing before it actually started pulling anything.

The beauty of it is that you can do it slowly in increments so you don't break anything else.:thumb
