I've been searching without success...

Does anyone know where I can get 4 replacement rubber grommets for the nav cradle?

There the ones that the mounting bolts go through to provide some isolation at the mounting. Stupidly I've been using mine without the stand off sleeve and have wrecked them.

Can't find any on t'inernet...............

Get a roll of self-amalgamating tape and roll your own. once rolled to correct diameter, slice the end to get the right 'height'

Last forever.

Have you spoken to Touratech? It’s the sort of thing they have lying around in an old Tupperware container on a shelf in the back. Rubber fuel hose?

Oddly I was talking with Touratech a couple of weeks ago.

I asked if they could help.

They immediately replied to say yes, what bits do I need.

I told them.

No response.

Left it a week.

I emailed again to ask for an update

No response.

Are you sure? My TT locking mount, admittedly a good few year old, is 14 mm diameter x 16 mm height female/female - avm do a 15x15 & invite an approach for custom sizes

Maybe yours is smaller for some reason.
Ah, I'm not taking about the ones in the Touratech mount, I'm talking about the ones here circled

Sorry Gyp - my bad.

If you get nowhere with Garmin dealers, it might be worth looking in the world of the drone. They use all manner of anti-vibe solutions to protect the electronics, including some pretty specialised grommets that are probably far higher spec than Garmin use.

I have also seem older cradles fixed with pan head screws & a simple rubber washer between it & say a RAM mount.

Have you tried calling Garmin UK. I have found them pretty helpful in the past, looking for replacement bits.

How about buying a secondhand cradle, retaining the grommets and flogging off / binning the rest?

I started down that route and tried to find the Garmin UK contact details, however in the brief time I was looking at their site I couldn't find. I will have a more thorough look though as they must be there somewhere.

I already have a spare Zumo cradle so that's already earmarked as the donor for my BMW 4-button mount, so that plan is already forming.

Transferring the rubbers from the spare cradle was easy enough (with a bit of lube) so the Nav cradle is now ready to go back on, with both the BMW spacers and this time, the correct bolts.

In the mean time, Garmin have been back in touch. They can't supply the grommets, however they have decided to send me a complete replacement cradle instead.

Result!

Garmin ‘Customer support’ is regularly derided on these pages. Good to see that they will, if they can, be helpful.

Good point, though the only way I got to them was by contacting the social media team on Twitter that transferred me to the US support team and then through to the UK team.

Of course, the mount hasn't turned up as yet - I hope to report back in a positive way :)

Garmin have now emailed to say that they can't supply the cradle as it is only supplied through BMW dealers.

So I'm back to square one.

Other than the fact that I have now liberated the grommets from the buttonless Zumo cradle that I was intending to install on the R80 and installed on the 4-button cradle, and purchased the correct spacers from BMW. My immediate problem is solved, but Garmin support haven't proved to be quite as useful as I thought they were :-(

Easy option is use small cable grommets with a washer on side of bolt.

7th (I think) Garmin support person has been in touch to say they have identified a fitting kit that should include the rubbers, and they are sending me that FOC.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

What they've sent me is a complete mount for a Zumo XT, which has the same rubbers!

I just need to liberate the rubbers and relocate them

Took a while, but Garmin came through in the end :)
