Glodwing-finally got it.

Your responses are becoming ever more strange. Several of us are throwing out what I view as helpful comments, yet you seem to reject sternly our 2 pennyworth in favour of relying on info from a forum in the US.

Why is your deal so secretive - no one here intends to rain on your parade.

There are plenty of Goldwings around at present & dealers will have to pre-reg all Euro 4 inventory by 31/12/2020. Surely best to walk away if you are entertaining any doubts.

Because I don't think it's fair to name and shame a dealer on a public forum - as they have not done anything wrong on purpose. Why I was able to hear something that they could not ... is an interesting question. US Forum - ha , lots of suggestions and comment - a lot of it crap ... like - they all do that , just ride it , etc .
Anyway , care of someone on here - 3rd Goldwing in a week has been "bought" this morning (yes - third !!)
Hull here we come !!

I reckon @stever1 should be claiming commission.

Any dealer talking BS deserves to be outed IMHO.

Cortina: good luck this time around...3rd time lucky and all that. And please let us know how it works out as I for one would love a Goldwing (albeit a bagger for me)

Will do - it almost HAS to work. Friday about noon will tell the tale hopefully. Good to have "contact" via this site
cheers
Alan

Hi Steve no not yet hoping maybe weekend. Drafted a route inserted it and hoping leg stands up.

If you’ve put a route in you’ve done more than me. I’ve got to grips with the normal functionality of the sat nav but Not put in routes yet. It’s good having it built in so you just walk away from the bike and not need to remove a sat nav unit

You’re going to ride it standing up ? You is hard core :)

Lovely looking bike . Tried searching for a demo in a dealer but drew a blank .

I believe there is a limited number of Gold wing centres in the UK. Perhaps it would be easier in France.

Ive just put a deposit down on a 2020 Goldwing DCT Tour Airbag (20MY) from a Honda motorbike dealer who isnt one of the "Specialist" Goldwing dealers. To qualify for "specialist" status the dealer has to (I believe) commit to "x" number of annual Goldwing sales; my local dealer doesnt hit this volume and do not therefore qualify for 'specialised' Goldwing status. Honda UK are currently subsiding Goldwing 'Specialist' dealers with a Goldwing 'Care Package' that includes a £500 dealer contribution, first 3 services for free additional years warranty and Euro roadside assistance (so both are now 2+1=3) and a bespoke bike cover (retail around £300 apparently). My non dealer specialist matched the deal the Specialised dealer offered. The downside to a non specialist dealer is (again.. only my thoughts) they wont have a demo bike, a selection of new bikes (in different colours) to look at or accessories in stock. A specialist dealer will undoubtedly have a better knowledge of the bike in both pre/after sales/servicing etc etc. I had a 2014 Goldwing and had ridden several Honda DCT bikes so the lack of a demo wasnt too big an issue for me and my dealer was able to source the exact model/colour I was after. Hope this helps if your in the market for a Goldwing and cant access a Specialist. Bob

If you are ever up here Hunts in Manchester usually have a demo and so do Chester Honda aka Bill Smiths. They are a Goldwing Centre and the salesman told me they therefore had to have a demo bike, although that may not be the case come winter time?

Sorry Steve but the bagger in the black like Derek's with the red highlights its just "bad ass".... to use an American vernacular .

Each to there own mate. To be honest I only looked at a Wing when the girlfriend saw one and liked the look of it. Once she had sat on the full fat version with the armchair for the pillion there was no way she would go on a bagger.

Ok,ta for that.
It’s not a million miles from the g/f’s place so could make a day of it at some point.

DONT THINK THE BAGGER WILL WORK FOR ME :-(

Well carrying on with the tale in this thread that I did start Ive leaned a BIG FECKIN lesson today "RIDE A BIKE BEFORE YOU GO BY ONE especially a £25k ONE! I took the wrapper off the Toffee today I couldn't wait any longer having had nee big the Goldwing Bagger DCT sat in my garage for over 2 weeks! I thought my leg and injuries would be OK but to be truthful I bloody struggled today the bike had now got !40 miles on it. What a thing that DCT is its truly amazing the hole thing is GREAT even the new Rukka Nivala suit the new Shoei Neotec , but I don't think I'm ever going to be able to hold the Wing at junctions my leg collapsed a few times..

iI may well be selling it ASAP...... Not even a month old yet not had its 600 mile service yet Its a shame as i have speced it up and ceramic coated it an all that... ANYONE interested without insulting me Ding ME 07736157500 for a chat..

Derek, could it be that you just need to get the leg working better again ?. From my experience the wing is more manageable than a GS as its shorter.
