5000 miles on these tyres now and the noise is shocking.Uneven wear pattern on the rear shoulders, front looks OK but howls. Still perform OK, but can't stand the noise any longer.. they're off. Any recommendations for a more peaceful tyre?

5000 miles - they are probably done! I reckon I might see 5k out of mine.

Michelin Road 5 get rave revues, but at a price about £50/pr more than Roadtecs

Conti Road Attack3 also get great reviews at a price similar to Roadtecs.

Yes, I read the reviews before I bought these. They were fine for 500 miles then became noisy. I expect, and usually get, at least 8k from my tyres. Any actual user recommendations?

Are these the regular Roadtek, or the new SE? I’ve just got the SE, and they’re fantastic.

Standard. No problems with the performance, just the noise.

What have you had on previously - getting 8,000miles?

As stated above Michelin Road 5,s are excellent but I am currently running on Anekkee 3,s .. or Panakkees as some call them, and for me ? I love em.

Previously used z8s (good), pirelli angels, better... 8k from both of these.

Oh.! !
Mine are fine. 8,000 miles is about right. They work fine for me but I do struggle to wear the little elephants out on the edges:)

I’d say - go back to either of those then? They might be a bit cheaper than the Roadtecs too.

On an Rt?

I'd be surprised, on my second set of the 01's (HWM versions) on my RT and I get nowhere near 8k before changing both. Be surprised if I do more than 5k without getting a new set fitted, but then I never keep an eye on the mileage, if they look worn I change them. If I was after low running costs I would've bought a fucking scooter!

I think he was referring to the elephants ;) But that said, the RT is quite flickable.....

I wouldn't say "flickable" but it will lean over if you push it a bit.. ummm couldn't find the elephants...😎

Very good! They're not roadtec though...
Looks like I "miss remembered "
They were Dunlop roadsmart III 's
And I don't get 8,000 miles either...
Oem from new -6500
Dunlop RS III - 6800
Roadtec 01 - 7400 but really too much.
Ditto 7200
Dunlop RSIII- 7400
Now back on Metzler Road tech 01, hence the mistake and why I couldn't fine the elephants!
So, not much difference in wear for me and the grip seems the same.

I have a pair of Roadtec 01's for sale if anyone is interested (except for Wierpig):D
Bought second hand last year with the intention of putting them on my 1100GS.
I've since sold the bike but still have the tyres.
They've done less than 300 miles and gathering dust in my shed.

£100 plus postage.

Tyres are a personal thing but I have never heard anyone describe Roadtec as noisy
I have them and have been using them since they were launched ( obviously not the same set) and they are no noisier or quieter than any other tyres except Anakee which everyone complains about the noise

Maybe mine are a duff set then.. Think I'll try the Angel gt2 next
