That is nice Rd500LC was quite a bit more ride able than the RG500 with its broad torque versus the Gamma's narrow powerbands

... and I just think the RD500LC was so incredibly pretty - the Gamma not so much so (I had an RG400). I remember the disbelief when the Yam was launched - there was one at our hotel for that year's Manx GP and it attracted huge interest.

Can't wait to see that finished.

I love the smell of two stroke in the morning! It smells like ... victory!

Well, in the right hands!

My dream bike

A work mate bought one new in ‘86, the sound was glorious

Never got to ride it but I went on the back a few times

My budget at the time only stretched to a second hand 350 F2

My all time favourite two stroke. Look forward to the finished bike.

Is the smoke issue far reduced with modern synthetic oils running at lower "mix" ratios?

Chap at a classic bike show kindly provided me with a nostalgia trip by handing me the keys to his awarding winning 350Yam (I think he must have thought i was somebody else!). When i got back i commented on the absence of smoke compared to the identical bike i had in the 70s and he put it down to modern oils.
