I was a bit fed up of doing very little so I decided to have a trip to the Vercors region to have a look at the Balcony roads there.

I based myself at Le Camping Moto for a week and explored the local area - this was end of July beginning of August.

I took a trip to the Col du Parpaillon for a day - a twelve hour day !!!

I made two little videos - one of the Combe Laval.

The other of the Col de Parpaillon.

Should have taken my Road King on a detour to the Col de Parpaillon :)

I loved your ride report on the area - I wouldn't even try and compete with that.

I'm getting on in years now and the Col du Parpaillon was on my bucket list.

I have a couple more to do and I think I may go back again to France in a couple of weeks.

The KTM 790 flatters me somewhat as I'm shite off road. Fabulous bike.

Looks fun.I need to go back on the Husky and explore a few tracks.I’m shite offroad too.

Nice one Bob, hell of a track that one. Great trip. :beerjug: It's the second time I've seen you off road.:D

Roads look fantastic in video. After Arsey's report we are going next year.

Great vid of the ride up the Col Du Parpaillon. That’s on my “to do” list. :thumb2

Did you go through the tunnel ?

I have done it several times from both directions, sometimes easy, someimes on the floor under the bike wondering how I was going to get out of this mess.......

Got some photos but don't want to steal your report.

Dreaming of getting away so I was looking at past ride reports and came upon this.
Great videos - thanks.

We’ve stayed at Moto Camping a few times and it’s great.
For those of you thinking about the Parpaillon - do it. It’s a lovely trail and, in the summer, can be done on a road bike :thumby:

Yes I did go through the tunnel and down the other side. The tunnel was fine, if a bit wet. The ride on the north side is a lot less bumpy

I would just love to see your photos.

The was the only pass (in France) over 2000 metres that remained for me to do.

I had a good drink that night when I finally got back to Motocamp. :D:D:D:beer:

Ok very brief history, have family at Tallard so often staying with them before or after bike trips to the mountains.

Stella Alpina is a great friendly get together and makes a perfect destination from Tallard.
Great roads around and over the Lac de Serre-Poncon and across to Embrum before the climb up and through the tunnel.

Don't know why but the last photos are in reverse order, but you get the idea.

Just one picture from the Stella, four GSer members at the top of the Stella highest bit from another year.
