TP-Link M5 Set Up Question

Having declared our Virgin WiFi Boosters an absolute waste of time I have bought a triple pack of the TP-Link M5 mesh networking gizmos.

I’ll be setting them up next week when I get back home

Do I need to have the Virgin router in modem mode?

Can I use the same SSID and if so will all my external Ring devices carry on without the need to reset them?

Has anyone used these in a decent sized 4 bed, 3 storey 1930’s property. Just wondering whether 3 is enough?

Well I’m back from hols and got straight on with setting up the M5’s

Set up is a breeze as the App does all the tricky bits and it was a doddle. Our issue was always dead spots and drop out. WiFi now transformed with 180Mbps in the kitchen and 80Mbps up on the 3rd floor. This is using a triple pack. I am so impressed I have ordered another triple pack and will have one in another bedroom, one in the kitchen to also cover the patio area and one in my man shed.

I retained the existing Virgin SSID and password and all devices reconnected onto the Deco system seamlessly.

Money well spent. Wish I’d done it years ago.
