Picos and Pyrenees trip

Can you get me a small bike sticker in the shop at the bottom please. Forgot to when we were there 2018 :thumby:

Already been up but thinking of another trip up next week will get you and me a sticker if I do
Massive day yesterday doing the "Potes Triangle" all the GS riders wanted me to join them in 20 plus bike convoy, I declined as I wanted to do photo stops, it was a 150 mile trip on mostly slow curvy roads, left at 10am clockwise, the GS guys left at same time anticlockwise, we all passed each half way round:D back at hotel at 7.30pm
Day off today.

Should explain the Potes Triangle route, clockwise, Potes down to Riano (dump) up on the N625 Sames to Cangas to Covadonga
Back along AS 114 via Las Arenas to Panes to Potes, wow 150 miles at 30mph average with all the curves or you can reverse it anticlockwise

AS114 possibly my favourite road in the area. I ride it from Cangas to Panes, stop for a coffee and then ride it back as far as La Robellada and take the AS115 down to the coast where I usually stay

Thanks Mark.

We came up from southern Spain and I remember the roads and views coming over the mountains to Potes were fantastic if you fancy a look. It must get a fair dump of winter snow up there according to the road marker poles.

Popped up to Fuente De this morning and they have no stickers☹️

Update,

Local trips yesterday, the Monastery of Santo Toribio de Liebana, just down road from hotel, was quite interesting and worth a look, today was another fairly heavy miles day with a start from Potes down towards Riana but turning off before to Posada de Valdeon to loop around, the smaller roads had just been dressed with loose chippings over wet tar and the RT was squirming a bit on it, good views though 130 miles clocked

I did the AS115 yesterday after a short run across the top. I didn't stop but Llanes looked nice. Passed through Po with it's inevitably altered road signs. The AS115 was great, only saw one car along the entire stretch south.

Aimed to ride to Bulnes today to photograph a peak but the road detoriated to a gravel track was not going to risk the RT on
Needed a GS for once , got as far as could for some pics and got mobbed by friendly mountain goats

Indeed getting to Bulnes on any BMW would be a challenge if it is the same place I think it is, try the Funicular. Plus whilst you are there, do the Walk, Ruta des Cares, it is awesome, absolutely a must do. The road up to Sotres is also brilliant, I did it on my bicycle...

Cheers Richie, don't I will have the chance to get back this trip few other places to visit before departing to Bilbao Saturday for 3 nights before the ferry back

I stopped in Bilbao for a couple of nights before a Tuesday ferry. Most things seemed to be closed on Sunday & Monday. I went for a lovely ride to Alto De Izpegi on the Monday. https://goo.gl/maps/sbjVMLSXiXTE7nfq7 and looped back to the cost via France. Picked up a €45 fine in an 80kph national speed limit. Stopped in St Jean de Luz to view the sea.

The Urkiola National Park just south of Bilbao is lovely as well.
