Picos and Pyrenees trip

Left Hotel del Oso this morning and now having a stop at Castro Urdailes for lunch, nice stop, it's about 20 mile west of Bilbao where I'm heading next.

Wow! what brilliant day its been, started early 08.30am to catch the right light on the Guggenheim (Photos) spent an hour there and shot some 50 shots, got some good ones, then of to the beach at Sopelana where a joined a gaggle of photographers shooting a surfing completion, looks good on the camera screen but could have done with my 600mm lens, see when I get home, weather was perfect, no camera phone shots here all too far away

Then a ride to Bermeo via Mungia on the Bl-632, this was the start of a loop which must be one of the best on the planet!!! before there's loads of ascending hairpins in pine woods, till you get to Bermeo view point / Bar / Restaurant I stopped for drinks and Tapas, really good, (photos) down more brilliant hairpin twists and turns to Bermeo itself, got some good harbour shots here, sorry no camera phone pics here (Forgot), on the bike again climbing out of Bermeo to another viewpoint (Photos) and then on to Mundaka continue on the BL-2235 till you see the BL-3123 to Mugnai, this 15Km stretch of motorcycle heaven has to be one of the best roads I've been on, spotted a bar halfway along which looked nice if you find it all a bit to much! then a quick blast down the Bilbao - Mungia Autobia back to hotel did spot some 80kph cameras near end take care.

last day tomorrow :-(

Last day today, sunny and warm instead of forecast cloudy and damp , took taxi down to Bilbao's old Quarter for Street shots and tapas bars, spent about 6hrs doing both 7500 steps on phones step o meter and 200 photos and quite few tapas

Been a great tour in the Picos, sorry to leave, highly recommend a visit if you've not done it

Been to Bilbao with my wife in 2017, lots of tapas bars. We had two nights there before touring The Picos in a rental car. Great report, look forward to seeing more pics.
