I've just been to the Orkney Islands for a couple of weeks, longest I've been for. Previous visits have been diving or working at Flotta. This time was in the van so some campsites and some "wild" camping (parking up more accurate a term).
Stromness has a good site, handy for town and the Ferry Inn

In the north east there is another council run site at Birsay, again nice clean site and both very good value.
Went to Sanday for a while, stayed at

Nice friendly folk, they have camping, van spaces, pods, wee cottage and a hostel. Recommended, great location and 2 mile walk to the pub in Kettletoft (good pub and beer £3.50 a pint)
Back on the Orkney mainland there is

Nice lad Dan runs it, has an old Africa Twin in the shed and an even older Enfield, engine currently being rebuilt (again) . Nice camping for tents or vans and pods available, as well as a really nice wee loft cabin. Worth a visit, 2 miles from St Margaret's Hope (pub).
If you want suggestions for places to wild camp this is good

Not just for campervans, for example 13 & 14 are great spots in the dunes.
The whole area was really welcoming and friendly, nowhere took the piss on prices (camping and beer cheaper than where we stayed near Thurso). Recommended for a visit.
