Been ages since I’ve done a bike trip ......
Got the ferry from Plymouth-Santander
Only 25 bikes onboard including our 6.
Lovely smooth crossing .
Spoiled by waiting an hour to get off as they had issues with the ramp .
Legged it to the usual rendezvous in San Vicente de la Barquera to meet up with Enginerelight then lunch and the usual blat down the AS-114 to Cangas De Onis for a coffee /beer by the Roman bridge
Then another blat to the coast to pick up the N632 from Ribadesella to Villaviciosa.
Absolutely stunning road. Not ridden before .
Then we picked up the motorway to crack on and get to our usual base in Oviñana.
Usual dinner in favourite restaurant . Wine by the litre at €6 !!
Mucho seafood and then cachapo. Utterly delicious.
Sitting here in the village cafe watching the sun coming up .
Simply the best way to start the day .
Cafe con leche , fresh orange juice and croissant with apricot preserve .....
Probably the only food pic of the trip , though we are going to visit Diego’s bbq by the beach in next few days and he does cracking fresh octopus and ribs etc ....
I’ll post up some ViaMichelin screenshots of the roads we ride , all planned by Enginerelight who was born in this village .
Won’t be very photo heavy as it’s more about the riding . Plan is to play here for a few days then head west before cutting in to Portugal for a night then back into Spain and staying in a parador or two before the boys ferry home and I head to the Picos then Brittany.
